Students should review the exam requirements for the course they are taking by going to the AP site and looking at examples found by students whose work was chosen by AP for view. Students must first register to have access to information found on the College Board web site. This will be done by November 1. Students will also create a login and password for the exam site.
AP 2D/3D/Drawing Art and Design
STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE ALL UPLOADING OF IMAGES ON THE AP EXAM SITE BY TUESDAY, MAY 3, 2022. STUDENTS MUST BE IN THE ART ROOM TO PACK THE QUALITY WORK ON MAY 6, 2021
Students will need the following for the course. Pencils (#2 & color),Pens (color gel type), Black markers (extra fine .03), USB drive. Students have a take home project fee of $50 that will cover the cost of the visual art journal required for the exams for each course, supplies for making individual projects, specialty pencils, brushes, paint, glazes, sculpture materials, color printer ink for journal pages, and mat board for the 2D art work to be prepared for exhibition/exam. Note: due to individual project choices students, may need to furnish their own special supplies for a project made using materials such as specialty acrylic mediums, large canvas and other supplies not found in the DCPS supply warehouse
Worksheets to fill in for research, process, and exhibition. The required worksheets can be found with each assignment in FOCUS These will be printed out for the student to cut up and put in their Visual Art Journal
You must download the ap_exam_written_commentary_worksheet and keep up with this worksheet each quarter! You will use the worksheet when you submit your exam.

2021-2022 Students will be required to keep both a Visual Art Journal. This journal will be checked for each art piece (research,experimentation with media, plans/sketches for each project)

Scoring rubric for all AP art exams
AP 2D/3D/Drawing Art and Design is a course that follows the guide lines set by Advance Placement. The course emphasizes research, experimentation, discovery, inventive thinking and artmaking, and problem solving in works of art. The course is divided into two sections.
Section I: Sustained Work that follows an investigation approved by the teacher that composes of research, planning, experimentation, written notes as well as artwork using a variety of media. Section II: Selected Works The finished pieces of art completed by the student along with written documentation. EXAM DATE for 20-2021 is May 6, 2022 ALL artwork images with written commentary must be uploaded by noon on May 6. Quality work must be matted and ready for shipment by Wed. May 3. |
